I won a bid for a golf driver for 40 and when I went to pay the price was 48. When I looked closer it shows vat was added to the winning bid. Has anyone else seen anything like this? Not sure if it's normal or not.

If item or seller are not in UK, then you pay VAT.
There has been a Glitch where ebay say VAT will be added, but it isn't.
So looks like non UK seller.

As said, seller is either overseas, or registered as a member outside the UK, and you are therefore an importer and 20% VAT has to be paid. So
