Using Paypal

Been with Ebay 21 years and recently  seeing changes I dont get.

For some odd reason Ebay are not allowing the use of pay-pal to receive payments for what am selling.

I can use it to pay for my purchases no problem.

Sold two items recently, forced to use my bank account to receive my payment, which took almost 5 days to receive.

Tried to amend this in the payments section with no luck.

How do I get Ebay to allow the use of paypal when am selling stuff......

Using Paypal

PayPal has not been used to receive payouts for many years now.  There's been a recent big change too,  to how payouts are made now to Private sellers... Simple Delivery.

Once tracking shows the item has been delivered your payout is released 2 days after that delivery date.  It then goes into your eBay Balance and from there when showing Available you need to manually withdraw the amount when needed, and it goes into your bank account,  the one you have registered for Managed Payments.

With no tracking  payouts are held for 14 days.

You have to register for Managed Payments to sell on eBay now:

You need to provide eBay with details of a bank account and have this account verified.  The usual method here, is for eBay to send 2 micro deposits into that nominated bank account for you to receive,  and confirm to eBay.

Once this is completed,  you will be able to list items for sale,  and receive payouts from those sales.

This will show you how to register for eBay's Managed Payments.

This link explains Simple Delivery, which is to become mandatory for all Private sellers.

There have been some very big changes,  if the last time you sold your payouts went into your PayPal account !

Thanks for your reply.

I buy more than I sell thats why I did not spot they stopped using paypal for sales.

I found it a bit frustrating having to wait for the money instead of it being immediately in my account.

Ah well, there is a new mobile app I saw advertised the other to sell  stuff,.....I may give it a try in my next sale.

thanks again for replying.

Yep, Big, Big changes since PayPal was used to receive payouts.

Definitely then worth reading up about Managed Payments and Simple Delivery if you wish to sell again.

By the way I noticed they are promoting this new payment method called Klarna, sent me a discount voucher but although I appreciate they are legitimate company....not sure I want to get involved with this all these new banks and credit cards companies who will be around for a year or so then disappear.

LOL, call me old fashioned but prefer to stick major banks and their cards and perhaps PayPal since i have been with them for 20 years.

Yep Klarna is another payment method for buyers,  and as sellers never know how a buyer pays it's good that there's more chance for buyers to choose from.

If your bank / PayPal is working for you,  no need to look into Klarna in my humble opinion! 🤔
