The item listed was accurately described yet the buyer appeared not to have read the description, and left negative feedback saying it wasn't as he expected. E bay have completely failed to offer support to their sellers in considering this issue

eBay will not remove that feedback as it doesn't break any feedback rules.
All you can do is to try and appease the buyer. Send them a polite message saying you are very sorry the item was not as expected, and could they explain what was mis described, or what they found not to be accurate, and you can perhaps ( this only if you agree to add ), discuss a partial refund or a full refund on return of the item.
If you can come to some agreement, perhaps then, they would agree to complete a feedback revision you can send to them.
None of the above is guaranteed to make that change but it's the only way to try and have that feedback removed, and that's in the buyer's hands.

You don't have any negative feedback on your account.

Hi, Many thanks for your reply which was detailed and helpful.
I did actually get back in contact with ebay customer support (again) and asked the agent what exactly I had stated on the listing was inaccurate in any way, in which case I would accept their decision not to remove BUT fortunately the agent looked at the case again and agreed that I had done nothing wrong and that the buyer was incorrect in leaving the feedback so HOORAY I got it removed.
I know it is such a little thing in the scheme of things but I do try hard to get across that I am genuine as a seller (and buyer whichever) so object when matters are dealt with unfairly.
Anyway thank you again and best wishes for the coming festivities.

Thank you _ I actually did persevere with ebay and they agreed my listing was all OK so they removed the negative feedback.
I've never got in touch with a community group before so thank you for your help.
