Unable to amend the quantity available on a listing when I have an offer sent out.

Hi all, up until this week when eBay changed the listing process to include postage policy templates, returns policy templates etc.  I never encountered an issue amending the quantity available of a listing if it had an offer sent out on it.

Listing edits are restricted to certain changes only if you have an offer on it, which is fine, and quantity changes were never an issue.

But  this morning when I go to change one (changing qty from 22 down to 19), even though the qty box is available for me to change, when I save the listing, it flags up an error message.Screenshot 2025-08-01 095211.png

The returns policy is already in place, I'm not trying to change it, it's the same for all listings.

Any ideas?

It is idiot AI sending a standard message I think. While an offer is outstanding it is not possible to change any significant items. For example you might want to reduce stock to Zero but the offer could still be taken up even if you were unable to fulfil.

Another ill thought out scheme by ebay, as it in these circumstances it would give seller an out of stock defect.
