Trying to get my refund

Hi there,

I'm trying to get a refund for an item that got cancelled by the seller.
They keep telling me to send my paypal address and I keep getting a warning alert from ebay about sharing details and I don't want to get a bad mark against my name. They've done this to a lot of people by the looks of it and know it's a loophole.

Ordered on the 10th Jan with Buyer Protection
Said there were delays to my order, then cancelled my order after I chased and chased on the 9th April. Been on their feedback and it has happened to many people, where they have said ebay have arranged a refund.

Please help get my refund as I have no way of contacting ebay about it and as it's outside of my 30days I can't open a case. With thanks Team!

Trying to get my refund

If it's still within 90 days of the sold date the seller can still refund via the transaction on ebay.   If it's past that time the seller cannot refund and would have to send as payment.   For that they'd need the email address you use with Paypal.

As said seller can refund up to 90 days from purchase, just using refund in the drop down menu, if not speak to your payment provider who may be able to help.

Thanks so much for coming back to me. They keep asking for my paypal address but when i enter it into the reply I get a warning about sharing that info and the email doesn't send. They told me to take a photo of my paypal address and send them image and that didn't work either. I don't want to do anything that goes against ebay's terms.

Is it a business seller with alternative contact details on their listing?

They are definitely outside the 90 days and can't refund through ebay.

If they are serious about refunding they could write to you, they have your address, and give you an email address to communicate with.

Otherwise try your funding source.

You should have opened a case within 30 days.

Thanks for your reply!
Re: You should have opened a case within 30 days.

Unfortunately they only told me on the 9th April that there's an issue. So yes ordered on the 10th Jan, but not until then did they let me know.
They have asked for my Paypal AGAIN, do you know how I can sent it to them without Ebay blocking the message?
With thanks,

Andy

Have you looked to see if the seller is a business seller with contact details on the listing?

They may have an email not linked to Ebay you can use, or a phone number.

Unfortunately, after this length of time, they won't have your full address or phone number in 'order details' for this sale, so you are going to have to be proactive and a bit creative to get relevant details to them.

@david_hockney2006

You're just going to get your account sanctioned if you continue to try to get around eBay's message block, from what you've already said you've already been red flagged a couple of times.

Did you fund the payment with a debit/credit card or ApplePay?

If so, contact your card provider and issue a not received chargeback. It's the simplest and easiest way forward.

Yeah I really don't want to have any issues with Ebay!!!!

I paid with debit card, so will talk to the bank and see what they can do.
