Hi
I’d just like to share my recent experience here.
I purchased an item and paid straight away on 27 November. The item cost over £260 and was sent via Evri. The tracking shows it was delivered on 1 December at 17:31, but unfortunately I never received it.
I contacted Evri to request a signature, delivery photo, or any proof of delivery, but they informed me that they do not have this information. I then reached out to the seller, who stated that he posted the item, since Evri marks it as delivered, there is nothing more he can do.
However, I still have not received the parcel. I contacted eBay to ask for support, but they advised that because Evri shows the parcel as delivered, they cannot intervene further. When I asked both the seller and Evri for any proof of delivery—such as a signature, a photo, or GPS confirmation—neither could provide anything.
As an additional note, several neighbors have recently posted on Facebook saying they are also missing parcels that Evri claims to have delivered.
My question is: if an item is lost during transit and the courier cannot provide any proof of delivery, is the buyer held responsible for the loss?
