I’m hoping someone from eBay or the community may be able to advise because I seem to be stuck in an endless verification loop with no resolution.
My account was restricted on 2 April 2026. I immediately uploaded the requested colour copy of my passport and then proof of address on the same day.
Since then, I have repeatedly uploaded documents and contacted eBay numerous times via chat and phone. Different agents have confirmed different things, including:
- All documents were received and my account would be reinstated within 5 days
- The issue would be escalated and I would receive a response within 72 hours
- My documents had been received but were never sent for internal approval
- There may be technical issues preventing uploaded documents from appearing to agents
I have now uploaded:
- Passport
- Bank statements
- Credit card statement
under both my maiden name and married name, all matching my registered address.
For context, my eBay account was originally opened under my maiden name, while my business name was updated to my married name around two years ago. This has been explained multiple times in the upload notes and to customer service agents.
Despite this, I continue to receive repeated requests for the same documents and have now been restricted for 5 weeks.
Most recently, on 30 April, I was told again that the matter would be escalated and I would receive a response within 72 hours, however I still have not heard anything.
I run a genuine business with 99.2% positive feedback and this situation is having a significant impact on my business operations.
Has anyone experienced anything similar or knows how this can be properly escalated to someone who can manually review the case?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
