"Buyer" , after agreeing a two-for-one deal conned me into going off-piste with “Please send me your email address and will sort payment” then making plausible requests about payment method (would I prefer BACS or Paypal).
He sent a deposit so I was gulled into posting the two items (combining postage for his benefit). Of course, the balance never appeared.
I’ve learned my lesson the hard way! I have enough email evidence to consider court, but that could cost serious money beyond the £40 the cheapskate failed to pay.
Stick with eBay for your own protection!

Yep, wise words.
Vere from eBay's 30 day MBG Money Back Guarantee protection , and you can befall many an unfulfilled promise or excuse a seller can bring to the table.
A promise cannot be enforced , the MBG when followed correctly, can be.

And facilitating an offsite sale with paypal or bacs with your buyer could land you in a whole heap of trouble, should ebay catch up with you both.
Remember in future only deal through the payment methods of eBay.

The member 2 member boards are generally for quick fire questions and answers, and only 'mentors' or eBay staff can reply on these particular boards.
The general boards are where you can have a good rant should you feel the need, there has been plenty of it lately!

You may find comments and replies in the discussion forums are less tactful than you have received here.
Do you really want lots of responses to, 'I did an off-Ebay deal and lost money'?
