So many time wasters.

Yet again another sale thwarted by a childish time waster bidding the highest just to prevent other buyers from getting a great item. Obviously no intention of going through with the sale. Why can’t these pathetic people be blackmarked  in some way so you can block them from your auction. EBay should score buyers with a reliability score so you can screen out the ones who just want to spoil the sale.

Having to re-list repeatably due to their spoiling actions is not doing EBay any favours.
I already do a buy it now price and try and screen out potential disrupters but so many now out there!!

You must do something about this EBay.

They are penalised by eBay and you can block them from bidding from you again. You just need to use the tools that eBay provides.

If a buyer hasn't paid after four days you can make an unpaid item cancellation, see: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/payment-policies/unpaid-item-policy?id=4271

This will immediately cancel the sale. Neither party can leave feedback; any already left can be removed. The buyer will receive an unpaid item strike for not paying, which will stay on their account for a year. Two strikes mean that most sellers will automatically block them from bidding.

You add non-payers to your blocked bidders list and prevent them from sending you messages here: https://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BuyerBlockPreferences

Yes. You can block them but you don’t know who they are until they don’t pay. By this time your 7 day auction has been a waste of time. You need to preempt this unsavoury practice as I now have to re-list. This adds another week to sell your item - actually more as you have to wait another 4 days before it comes clear that you have a time waster on your hands.
This can be seen as a type of sabotage to EBay practices that will only drive sellers and genuine buyers away.
EBay really needs to wake up to negative human nature as I feel I am wasting my time on this platform as a seller??

So many time wasters.

Do you need to list your items in an auction format?

In my humble opinion,  I'd imagine those camera items have a ceiling level, so you could list them in a Buy it Now format,  and select immediate payment.

That way, when the item is sold,  but the payment not forthcoming,  it stays on sale until that buyer pays, or even another can come along and buy it, And pay for it !

Would rid you of those timewasters.

You can block any member with two or more unpaid strike. Sellers who do this cannot then have problems with serial non payers. You do not need to know who they are.
