Simple delivery- no expedited service?

I was recently asked to expedite a delivery for a buyer but there was no option to do this. What if I had not used the simple delivery label and sent it 24hrs tracked at my own expense, would I be in danger of losing my payout?

No, but you would have to wait 14 days for it unless you changed the tracking.     There is a workaround but it is a bit of a hassle.

So when you buy your own label you still need to generate the original prepaid label so you can change the tracking number and mark as dispatched.

You generate the label then go to View Order Details > Postage > Track Package > dropdown arrow and change the tracking.   That has to be done on a desktop browser.

If you paid for the original unused label you can cancel it here:

Or if the buyer paid for it it will be refunded to them automatically in 30 days.

You should point out to your buyers that listings with Simple Delivery do show a faster service.

If they choose the more expensive 'Express Tracked Delivery' they are paying for a 24 hour service.

I have chosen only to use Royal Mail so, buying from me, that would mean the buyer had selected Royal Mail Tracked 24.

If you buy your own label, you lose the postage cost as (unless you offer free delivery/seller pays) the buyer would be refunded for the unused label.

You would be paid.  You could amend the tracking and insert your own or wait until 14 days after the transaction when payment would automatically be released.
