Anyone else having problems as a buyer or seller being forced to use EVRI, when the only every thing is that they mess it up every time? When buying I want to be able to choose which courier is going to deliver my item, and I cannot rely on Evri, this is leading to protracted conversations with sellers and me having to pay twice for postage.
As an occasional seller I've found simple delivery is often automatically under estimating costs and item sizes and it isn't very intuitive how to make it suggest the right amount and the right courier options.
Ebay please sort this out asap or I will have to stop using ebay which is a shame as it has been my go-to place for online shopping for 20 years.

As a seller you can choose to use Evri or Royal Mail or both
As a buyer you don't get to choose the carrier only the service used, standard delivery-generally Evri if seller has both chosen or express delivery-generally Royal Mail,eBay selects the carrier from the sellers choices, neither buyer or seller can select exactly which carrier is used unless seller only selects one option.

Exactly. If the seller (and occasional sellers don't) doesn't realise this they don't provide the RM option, and post purchase they can't change this. As a buyer you can't always see if the "express" option is RM or just a different level of service with another courier. It is a rubbish system and it is getting it wrong - I've just been contacted by a seller where I selected express, and it issued a tracked label which is no way going to cover the postage cost of the item because simple delivery has automatically suggested the item weight to them and they haven't realised it is wrong until too late. Not simple, not clear, rubbish system.

You can check the delivery service being used by clicking on 'contact seller' on a live listing then the carrier is shown under the postage section

Sometimes, but depends on which options the seller has selected, some do not specify courier (and the seller may also be unaware until they print).
The system also just isn't accurate: here is an example from a live listing for a large object (bike frame), there is no way that the difference in parcel force and evri for this item would only be 2.99 (or 4.99) and note that the delivery times are wrong, as it reckons 48 would be quicker than 24. If I were to buy this and select P48 the next message from the seller would be "you've paid 2.99 but it is going to cost £25".
