I envisage many issues ahead! Some thoughts that immediately come into my head are:
> When creating the postage label how will eBay's system know the correct dimensions and weight of the actual package to be shipped?
> When eBay's system has created the postage label with the determined postage type and weight I understand that the seller cannot edit the type and weight etc. So, if either entry is incorrect at the fault of eBay's system what happens then? How do we get this corrected?

This is what happens when ebay is left in charge.
There is no provision for Postage and packaging, so psckaging must go on purchase price, meaning bigger fee for ebay.
Postage is calculated on info. provided by seller, but what starts off as a large letter, when wrapped becomes a small parcel, and seller is stuck with higher cost. Buyer will only pay what is on the listing, even if wrong, and you cannot ask for more.

This is what eBay say
If we're unable to determine the size and weight of your item accurately, you'll be asked to specify these details when you list it. This ensures you receive a suitable postage label when your item sells. You may also choose to update the size and weight if you believe our estimate is incorrect. Just make sure to report accurate measurements to avoid additional charges.
If your parcel exceeds the maximum size and weight of the label, and you listed using our recommended size and weight for your item, you won't have to pay any additional costs. Just go ahead and use the Simple Delivery postage label, as we’ve made sure the carrier will accept your package for delivery.
If you provided the size and weight of the item yourself, and these happen to be inaccurate, you’ll be responsible for covering any additional costs.
So if the parcel is larger than stated when listing seller will be responsible for additional postage, let's see how it works (if it all) in practise
