Simple Delivery Cost On Cancelled Order

My listings are all free postage for the buyer. I use Simple Delivery.

if a buyer asks to cancel immediately after buying, I have to pay some of the refund with my credit card, because eBay takes the Simple Delivery postage cost from the amount of my sale immediately (it's instant & automatic). Even if I can get a refund for the unused postage label, it could take days or weeks to get & it's a lot of hassle and worrying if / when I will get refunded.

My question is this:

If I change my listings to "Buyer Pays Postage", does that mean I wouldn't have to issue mentioned above when a buyer cancels?

Correct,  if you have Buyer Pays postage, and  they then pay and cancel, and you accept that cancellation request,  the postage they paid for will be automatically refunded to them,  and can take 30 days.

Nothing for you or the buyer to do re the postage,  it's done automatically by eBay.
