Selling copyrighted virtual items

I noticed that ebay allows sellers to sell virtual items now that are copyrighted to other companies. Is ebay corrupt now or is this ok? I’ve been selling on ebay for years but i think i might leave because of how they are ok with this type of thing. Or am i wrong?

You're wrong.

If an item has one or more copyrights on it then the interested parties can contact eBay and request that the listing be removed.

I have reported the buyer to ebay and their listings but the person who responds to me isnt bothered. The items are definitely copyrighted and selling them actually breaks another company’s terms and conditions.

So ebay are ok with it as long as they dont get caught? I always thought that it was wrong to break the terms and conditions of a company, i assumed ebay would have the same view. Im not trying to be awkward sorry, i just really didnt realise that it was ok to sell copyrighted virtual items.

If by virtual you mean items sold for digital delivery these are probably prohibited from sale on eBay anyway.

As regards copyright, you don't appear to be aware of eBay's VeRO programme to protect holders of intellectual property rights. eBay will remove items from sale when reported by the registered rights owner.

You can find a link to VeRO at the bottom of the page. eBay will only accept reports of abuse of intellectual property rights from the rights owner - which is realistic, as eBay can't determine whether reports by users are correct, mistaken or malicious. However, they encourge users to get in touch with the owner so that they can contact eBay. For further information see: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/listing-policies/selling-policies/intellectual-property-vero-pr...

Thank you. I will get in touch with gameloft and report the seller. I did send ebay the terms and conditions of the copyright owner which says that the items cant be sold. Also, i did report the items as being digital virtual items but ebay didnt care about that either.
