Selling a Horsebox

Hi, I'm selling a horsebox and the buyer wants to come and view it before deciding whether they want it or not. Everytime i put my address or phone number into a reply, ebay blocks it, how can i get the information to the buyer? Thanks for any help.

The buyer is supposed to buy through ebay first and then if they don't like it you cancel the transaction.   ebay blocks messages with contact details before payment.

I must say I  wouldn't necessarily be happy about accepting online payment for it.    I would have thought ebay would allow cash on collection for something like that.    You could put your postcode in your description.

This is a "motor" so you might do better to cancel and relist as a "classified" advert.  That is like an advert in a newspaper and  the ad can have phone number and other contact details. There is no bidding just a set price about which the parties can "haggle".

You will be charged a non-refundable fee [£20?] and will not get back the listing fee for your existing advert.

You have listed this under Equestrian / Horseboxes and horsetrailers. Many other horseboxes on eBay are listed under commercial vehicles /lorries and trucks.

The latter may not be the "correct" way, but it means that you pay lower final valy use fee (you could probably even list it as a classified ad) and most importantly the sale is not covered by eBay's money back guarantee.

IMO it is absurdly risky to sell what is essentially a motor vehicle with payment through eBay's checkout and covered by eBay's money back guarantee. (Or so the ads states, even though eBay's MBG policy states that it doesn't cover motor vehicles.) It would be good if an eBay rep could clarify this, but I doubt they will.

Yet lots of sellers are doing so, which is apparently the "correct" way of listing horseboxes. Personally I'd sell it elsewhere rather than be forced to accept payment in any way the buyer chooses, and possible liabilities arising from eBay's MBG.
