Seller canceled the order should make up the difference for the replacement £

Seller is at fault & should honour the difference of the cost to purchase else where as the reason is un-founded within the description, EBay seems to be on the side of the sellers and not the purchasers.
okay here we go again more disappointment and aggregation. Have to find the item once again from another outlet at a greater cost to me than originally purchased, obviously the delay ment that replacement got sold whilst awaiting the refund and it continues found another of the same but at an even greater price than I had originally purchased the initial item.
NOW who suffers me that's who at a loss now.
the Seller should make up the difference don't you agree.
if I was buying a car  house or a paper clip I don't care it's not on. They took the money then cancelled.
it's not fair practice and I'm sure this goes on and continues to go on and EBay let it happen.

Nope,  eBay usually in disputes, is usually on the side of the buyer.

This though is not a dispute,  but a cancelled item done without you permission.

This is bad selling, but no one can force a seller to sell an item.

You can if you wish,  contact eBay Customer Services,  explain the reason quoted for the cancellation is untrue ,  unless they stated out of stock this gives them a damaging defect on their account,  inform CS you did not authorise the cancellation,  and you were disappointed not to receive your item.  CS will review the case and may place that damaging defect on their account.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

 https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

Lines open between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

I recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

There is a legal route in contract law called something like "Loss of opportunity".   You would have to sue [High Court probably]for the difference in value and of course the costs would vastly exceed any gain.     EBay will do nothing as the transaction is between you and seller. As @tressygirl suggests you can report the seller to eBay though they will probably not do anything about a single incident and they will not tell you about any action [if any!].  I suspect that a seller will only get sanctioned if there are many reports through the system.

There is no "simple" way to enforce a seller to sell.

As @plpmr suggests you can leave negative feedback.  This must be within eBay's rules.  If it is not then the seller can get it removed.   Something like "disappointing transaction; seller would not complete sale" might be OK.   @hobsmob3
