Scammed?

I sold a phone last night via buy it now and messaged the buyer but didnt get a response (though it was after 10pm) I have massaged that item has been dispatched, but still no response. I have sent it via special delivery for next day delivery but after seeing a lot of scammers have low ratings, I went back to check, and they had a rating of 3 and opened their account this month. Should I be concerned of this? It's been a while since I sold anything on ebay and my experience before was fine but I am a little concerned buyer has not responded to anything. I know we all had a rating of 3 at one time but this is the age of ebay scammers I've read and ebay won't protect or pay me if they claim its damaged or wasnt recieved etc. Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

What response are you expecting? Presumably the buyer has paid and you have dispatched, surely that's it?

You can get scammed by buyers with hundreds of feedback.

Nothing much has changed, all new members start with 0 feedback.

You say you used Special Delivery so how can buyer claim not received? If it really was not delivered, tracking would serve no purpose and you would have to refund buyer and then claim from Royal Mail.

If buyer claimed damaged/not working nothing has changed, you would end up paying for return postage and on return refund. There has always been some abuse of returns, and ebay rarely even investigate but just find in favour of the buyer.

Having a proper return system is sensible, as No Returns invites abuse of the return process.

If you consider selling is risky then ebay is not the place for you.
