Returning faulty headlight

Hello, I purchased a set of new headlights from an automotive seller. 5 weeks after delivery they were fitted by a garage only to find they had a fault (nearside level motor not working) and failed MOT .

I opened a returns case but seller contacted me and said they would send a replacement, seller then closed the return case. "The seller declined the return request"

Seller has said they are coming from China and it will be a minimum on 18days before they arrive in UK.

My question is where does ebay stand on this as the virtual assistant says that the case is closed and I cannot appeal decison.

What if replacement never arrives - do I have a way to get my money back/or ask ebay to step in?

Thanks!

It is never wise to accept a replacement, money back guarantee would only cover first item, there would be no ebay protection for replacement.

The  money back guarantee only applies for 30 days from delivery,so you might have been too late, in which event the seller could reject.

If seller was a private seller, they would not have to accept a  “does not fit” return, but a business seller can only reject and close casecif outbof time.

I doubt that whatever seller says you will ever see a replacement, so best to see if your payment provider can help.
