Return is Closed

I am trying to return a faulty purchased item and the seller is not replying to my messages. Ebay provided a Return ID and 4 hours later emailed saying The Return is Closed without any explanation as to why. I now dont know if I can return the faulty item or get my money refund.

Can anyone help me with this?

When did you receive the item?

Cases are not usually closed instantly unless you are out of time to start a return.

“Ebay provided a Return ID” What does this mean? What exactly did you do?

Does not sound correct, you open a Not as described case, seller has to provide a return label, you return and on return seller refunds.

You only involve ebay if seller does not provide a return label when you can escalate.

Once case closed that is it.
