Return difficulty

Hi

I've sold a jacket which the customer wants to return due to the size.  He says he is unable to return it as ebay keeps asking for a photo but he is unable to upload the photo.

He wants to return it privately himself.

Ebay have told me not to accept this.

I need help please.  I can't see why him sending it privately is a risk to me.

This is easily solved.

Tell your buyer to copy and paste a picture from the original listing - one of your pictures.

Then they will be able to complete the return request.

Opening a case through Ebay protects the buyer and seller.  There will be evidence on your account that you have dealt with the refund so the seller will not be able to open a chargeback later on.

The buyer is protected as Ebay will step in to refund them if tracking shows you have the item back but you don't refund them.

As a matter of interest, is your buyer complaining that the size of the jacket was not correctly stated, or just that it's it doesn't fit them? The reason determines who pays the return postage. If the buyer opens a "not as described" case simply because it doesn't fit them eBay may even refuse their claim.
