Refunds

I posted an item which arrived broken. I’m happy to refund. Does the buyer have to open a request to refund or can I just refund it? Also I don’t want the item back… is that ok? I’m a business seller if that makes any difference.

They don't have to open a request.   You can just use the send refund link via the dropdown menu for the item on your orders list.

Thank you. Do I refund the postage cost as well? Can they keep the item?

Refunds

A refund for damage would normally include the postage, and they can keep the item if you like.   Even if they open a case on ebay you can refund without return.

Buyer should open a not as described case, broken in transit. In theory ebay should deal with refund, not you.

This certainly applies to private sellers, so why not business sellers.
