Refund

I recently sold a model train but packing it I managed to drop it.this cause considerable damage so I went to refund the money..but as it was my 1st eBay sale I checked to see if the funds had gone in but not a penny went in my account

I contacted eBay who advised me that it was in my account clearly it's never reached my account so called helpline and was advised to re-enter my bank details which I did straight away  but after 24 hrs still nothing has gone into my account and it is in eBay's holding account so asked them to refund the customer

given they have the money somewhere...

Obviously my buyer has become very upset as currently he is out of pocket and tells me eBay told him I have refund him even though their system is absolutely disgraceful I have checked the listing which has been removed due the sale but the money is nowhere to be seen..

When you say your account, do you mean your bank account?

Ebay don't pay money into your bank unless you reqest it and your money is probably on hold.

You can see what is happening with the buyer's payment by clicking  Payments

You should find the sale in your 'orders' and choose 'cancel order' from the dropdown menu.

This will trigger a refund for your buyer.
