Hey all,
I received an item (ipad mini) in the post Friday which I never ordered which I thought was odd as it was delivered to my name and address.
I checked my eBay account selected purchases and no items matched what i received on further digging I noticed a large amount go out for an ebay transaction close to the value of an ipad mini.
I immediately blocked my card used(not my usual ebay card) and contacted ebay support and they advised my ebay account was fine and the purchace must have been a guest account using my card details.
As you would expect blocked my card and disputed a fraud case with my bank.
I checked all devices in my house for eBay history just in case the kids accidently ordered but i doubt it as any pre populated bank details fields always usually ask for the CSV number. I had no verification message from the bank for this purchase and I'm stumped on how on earth this has happened.
Only conclusion I can think is someone has hacked my bank details and sent this item to the wrong address.
Anyone else heard of a similar issue or new scam linked to this?
