EBay and PayPal only cover the condition of items on delivery. They don't get involved with warranty claims.

Any responsibility now rests with the seller. If they're a UK business seller start by contacting them. If they don't resolve the issue you can ask citizens advice or trading standards for advice. In the last resort you could consider using the Courts and Tribunals internet based money claim service, see: https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome.

If they're a private seller or abroad there's nothing you can do.

Unfortunately many sellers don't want to know about problems. Warranties are liable to be worthless and even your statutory consumer rights, where you have any, may be difficult or impossible to enforce. Buying through eBay isn't like buying from the shops.
