QR code not recognised on shipping label!

The QR code is not working/not recognised when they scan the shipping label, at first I thought it was just a problem with the shops scanner itself but I've tried 3 different shops now and I don't know what to do about it. It's never happened to me before! Can someone please help me! Amy 🙏

You can reprint the label via the dropdown actions menu for the item on your orders list.

If that doesn't help as a last resort explain problem to buyer then cancel/refund the transaction with their agreement (via the dropdown menu arrow again) and relist for them to buy and pay again.

Or if the postage is not high you could just buy it yourself.   The buyer will automaticaly be refunded for the unused label, assuming they paid for it.    You won't be able to change the tracking number on ebay but would be able to add the new number to a "not received" case if one was opened.

QR code not recognised on shipping label!

Hi!

Thank you for your email.

I have already tried it with another QR code. The first one I used was the
one sent to my Gmail from Ebay which is how I've always done it. Then I
tried to do it directly from my Ebay account if that makes sense lol?

The postage costs £3.25 I think but I sold the item itself for £2.

I've tried talking to the buyer about it but they didn't even know what I
meant by QR code or or shipping label bless them.

Are you printing the label?

Have you tried getting the shop to scan the one on your phone?

No, I don't have a printer. I've always downloaded it to my phone and then
the post office scans it.

Then I think you have to accept that this code is dodgy and abandon it!

What do you think I should say to the buyer? They might think I'm trying to
scam them or something! 😞

As the buyer didn't reply to your first message,  I would just buy over the counter postage for this item, and send it through your local Post Office.

As advised,  you cannot now add any new tracking,   eBay suggest sending the buyer a message with those tracking details.  If a case is opened later for item not received,   you will be able to add those tracking details.

A refund is sent to whoever paid for the SD label:

  • If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

  • If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.
