I have an item that has sold and I'm using the new ebay "simple delivery"
I've gone to print the postage label and I get the following message:
"The post from or to address is not covered by this service" (the service is evri)
I contacted customer services and they suggest the buyer cancel the postage and this should refund it to me and I can then select a new postage service.
Problem I have is the buyer is saying they can't see an option to cancel the postage on there end ...
Anyone have any ideas?

Personally I wouldn't bother with buying an eBay label for this item, just to take it to your Post Office use over the counter postage for the Isle of Wight. RM charges no extra to post there m as anywhere on the mainland, some couriers will place an excess charge on the postage.
Just confirm with your buyer you're using Royal Mail is this OK , ensure the change of postal service is one the buyer agrees with this. You will then have to manually mark the item as dispatched and this can only be done now on the Seller Hub, here:
A partial refund can be made if an excess postage has been paid but as a tip before you do this mark the item as dispatched, there's a quirk in the system, make a partial refund first, and you cannot mark the item as dispatched.

Typical poor advice from ebay CS.
I really think that with the restrictions imposed by ebay, you need to cancel the transaction which refunds buyer, and relist with a postage system that works.
Any one would think that the Isle of Wight was on another planet, yet ebay pushes a service that cannot deliver.

I would do as john1297576 says and cancel and relist
If you buy your own postage it will be at your cost, you wont get payment for it from the original listing as eBay takes that from the buyer
I don't think the buyer is able to cancel the postage element of an order

Do not use Simple Delivery if you're based on the Isle of Wight, where there is no Evri collection service.
eBay have failed to factor this into their Simple Delivery model, and this is the result.
What should have happened, given your location, is that only Royal Mail should be a postage option showing for your buyer.
At the moment it's not compulsory to use SD, you need to opt out on each listing. Hopefully the penny will have dropped for eBay by the time it's compulsory and they'll tweak the software to just offer Royal Mail on the IoW.

I've just bought new postage from royal mail. I've managed to mark the item as dispatched, but it wont let me add a tracking number so might have a fight with ebay trying to get paid for the item, but that's for another day lol
