Postage payments go where?

I have set the option in my selling options that the buyer needs to pay postage, yet I haven't received any of those payments, just the initial price of the object sold.

I tried doing the prepaid postage label thinking that it was already paid for by the buyer but I was then charged for this. 

Is this a feature that's not working? If so I'll just change my settings to make them free P&P and incorporate it into the price.

You don't receive the cost of postage.  The buyer pays ebay for the label and you print it out.

Are you using Simple Delivery with buyer pays?

As I said in my post, when I tried the prepaid label ebay then charged me. 

I'll go free postage and do it that way.
