Postage payment kept by ebay from seller, on item cancellation request from buyer.

Hi, I had a buyer who bought an item as a buy it now (Free Postage for the buyer), then wanting to cancel a few minutes later stating it was the wrong size (something they should have checked before buying anyway). I cancelled the order within mintues, and the buyer received the full amount for their refund. However, ebay seemed to have kept the £3.38 they took from me (the seller), for the ‘Simple Delivery’ postage label, which I’m never now going to use as the order is cancelled.

It makes no sense whatsoever for ebay to be keeping hold of this money they take from the seller for postage when an order is cancelled, surely it can be refunded automatically just as the buyer themselves are refunded? How do I get this money back from ebay, for something that’s not even my fault? There seems to be no way for me to cancel this label and get my money back on this. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Details are all on the Simple delivery page.

If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.

Many thanks for that, will try it. It seems a hassle for the seller in my opinion. It should be an automatic refund, just as the buyer receives on a cancellation. Thanks again....
