Phone contact details to seller after paying for an auction item.

Won an auction, paid via PayPal, including buyer protection fee which I didn’t need, sent a message to the seller asking for collection address and tried sending my phone number so that if there is an issue on the day of collection I can at least let them know or they can let me know. Item is a fair distance away so traffic and other issues could play a part in me not getting to them in time.

Ebay wouldn’t send the message, said I was sending payment details and contact details which is not allowed. How do they expect people to correspond ?

When you buy on ebay and  pay useing the ebay checkout to pay for a collect in person item, you get a 6 digit code to take with you, which the seller can scan or manually input to show collection and prove collection.

Once you pay via ebay  checkout (as ebay no longer take cash) the sellers details will be sent on to you.
