ebays continued hatred of its sellers seems to continue.

I’ve been on this site for years, selling occasionally, but have now had my payments suspended and mysteriously I need to verify my bank account.

The instant verification wont work on an iPhone or iPad within the app.  On safari it fails.

So I now have to wait 2-3 days to verify two micropayments amounts before they’ll release MY MONEY.

It's a security measure.

If you have had a little break from selling and there's sudden selling activity on a dormant account,  it raises red flags to eBay as it could be a sign of the account being hijacked.

So for your account security and for your buyers,  eBay just wish to be sure the genuine owner has returned to sell.  They do this by sending those 2 micro deposits into the nominated bank account,  confirming the correct amounts back  will release payouts,   the norm now is for tracking having to show delivery then payouts are released 2 days after that delivery date.  No tracking ?  Payouts are held for 14 days.

As eBay see you as a returning seller there may be a longer hold.

Frustrating and annoying not to receive your payouts sooner,  yes I agree , but it is a most effective security measure and works,  as I can confirm ,  there are definitely fewer questions I have seen and had to answer,  re hacked accounts.

Well, they need to make the instant verification process work properly then.  Honestly, this is another reason to leave eBay as far as I’m concerned.  This combined with stopping freedom of using whatever postage means I choose and now an even longer delay getting MY MONEY it’s becoming intolerable.

The introduction of Simple Delivery is a totally different matter , and yes disliked by  many,  it's stopped me selling,  sadly! 😪

How long does it take for the micro deposits to appear in my “checking account” (whatever that is - that’s a phrase wholly unknown outside the US) ?  Day 2 of waiting to verify my own bank account and still no sign…
