Payment

Since it’s impossible to actually speak to anyone at eBay, I thought I’d ask the question here.

I sold a laptop six days ago and posted it and itarrived at the buyers house

unfortunately the amount of postage wasn’t sufficient so at the post office I had to pay an additional £21 to have it delivered

as a result the tracking number was different than the one that eBay supplied

so despite the fact that the chap has received a laptop, as far as eBay are concerned there has been no movement with the payment and therefore my funds are being held

I’ve asked if the chap  can sort out his end, but he doesn’t know how

and it’s impossible for me to speak to anyone at eBay to resolve this

so my question is how do I get my funds paid to me which eBay are currently holding

I’m not bothered about getting the £21 back even though I’m probably entitled to as I never actually used that to postage the eBay supplied and that tracking number was never used

I just want the funds from the sale

Re: Payment

There's nothing the buyer can do.   As the tracking cannot be changed the payment will be held for 14 days.   As a new seller it's possible it will be held for up to 30 days anyway.   You'll have to wait and see which it is.

You can mark dispatched, if that hasn't been done yet,  by opening the original pre-paid Simple Delivery label (Get prepaid label > Get prepaid label and QR code).   It will remain unused and the cost will be automatically refunded to the buyer in 30 days (assuming they paid for it).    As you guessed, you cannot get back the postage you bought.
