Hiya. I've sold an item on here and it's to be collected. States buyer has paid via PayPal but nothing in my PayPal account and not showing on my balance? 
is this something new that it will be paid when collected? As don't want to let it go if i cannot see the funds!

The buyer will have paid ebay by PayPal, not you directly.

Ebay won't tell you how they paid, so where does it 'state' this?

The money should be pending in your ebay account.  It won't normally be released until after collection.

Something odd happening here.

eBay send a message to confirm a buyer has paid,  but will not disclose the method, be it PayPal or credit card.  A seller is not privy to this information.

Are you sure this message came from eBay?  Did it come through eBay messages and address you by name?

If not,  then this is not from eBay and the buyer has not paid.

You can send the buyer a message that you cannot release the item unless they bring with them the 6 digit collection code,  this is given to the buyer when payment is made.

If they bring a code, enter it in their presence to make sure it works.

As said,  something doesn't ' smell' right here,  so protect yourself with all of the above !

Your PayPal account does not receive the payout ,  it's sent to your eBay Balance for you to manually withdraw to the bank account you registered with eBay's Managed Payments.  Have you registered?
