Whether on Simple Delivery (which I’m trying to avoid) or custom delivery (when I finally managed to track
that down!) the parcel options are completely bizarre. They are trying to make me chose a 61x46x46 parcel (ie RM medium) up to 2kg. Any thing heavier than 2kg has only one option and that’s an over size parcel up to 15kg. No sign of the RM small parcel (shoe box size up to 2kg) or the RM medium 2-5kg.
As a seller of collectibles 80% of my parcels are smaller than and below 2kg, 15% are medium but still under 2kg and 5% are medium up to 5kg.
Does eBay seriously expect me to send a 6cm high/200g ornament in a 2ft long box? Does it seriously think it’s reasonably to pay as much to send a 2.1kg glass bowl using the same delivery service as a coffee table? Apart from the ludicrousness there is no way buyers are going to pay £5.15 for posting a £2 auction bid that would cost £3.25 if I bought postage from Royal Mail.
