This new Simple Delivery is a nightmare. It doesn't work if you have variations on your listing and need different size postage labels depending on order.
As I use custom delivery and a couple of Royal Mail Tracked 48 parcels have been lost I'm told I have to contact packlink for a refund.
On the packlink page... It asks I put in an email address and reference number. No matter what I put in it says not recognised... Is there a specific email address I should be using for my eBay account and is the reference number the tracking number for the parcel? I hope someone can advise.
I'm not a fan of the new Simple Delivery process as it hasn't been fully thought through.

If your account was properly registered as a business account, you would not be able to use Simple Delivery.
Only private sellers - who don't have thousands of brand new food items to sell - have to use Simple Delivery.
You do not have to buy your postage through Ebay if you are finding it difficult to make claims through Packlink.
You can buy direct from Royal Mail or Evri.

You're trading on the incorrect account, which is why you have to use Simple Delivery and your customers are being charged an extra Buyer Protection fee on top of whatever price you put on your listing.
A private seller is one who is just selling off their own personal items such clothes from their wardrobe, bits from their loft/garage etc.
A Business seller is someone who buys or makes items to sell on. They need to be registered as a business to meet the requirements of UK law. eBay will be providing HMRC with your details anyway so it's vital to keep correct accounts. You can obviously offset more expenses as a business seller, but can't offset any at all as a private one.
To correctly register as a business seller simply go to your Personal Information in your account and to the right of Account Type, which will be showing as 'Individual' you'll see an Edit option.

This doesn't affect your feedback profile or any current listings, it merely upgrades your account so that you're compliant with current consumer and eBay policy.
If you're also selling your own items, just open another eBay account (you can have more than one).
