How do you opt out of 'simple' delivery? I am trying to sell many items under 20£ (most of these are under 5£, but i read a EBay article taht said you need it to be under 20£) in Royal Mail 2nd Class Large Letter. This costs 1.55£ on their website, but the least i/the buyer can pay with a large letter is 2.70£! Is there any way around this, or is EBay scamming me? (if they are svamming me and there is no way around it, i may have to rethink selling on EBay...).

You also need to list in an exempt category but ebay doesn't list these anywhere.

It depends on the category. You have to use trial and error to find out which ones. eBay don't publish a list.
The alternative is to use free postage - seller pays, buy your own postage and apply for a refund for the ebay postage.

The service offered with Simple Delivery for £2.70 is a tracked service.
As advised, your item has to be under £20, able to fit in a Large Letter, and in an exempt category.
Some of your items are listed with custom postage so you can see that you don't have to use Simple Delivery every time.
Are you charging enough for all of your single Lego bricks? Some of them are listed with 87p postage which is the cost for a letter less than 5mm thick. Some embossed birthday cards are too big to send as a letter, so I would imagine any Lego brick would be too large to go through the letter slot at the sorting office.

No way would a regular lego brick be allowed to go through as a large letter.
