I have been notified by EBay that a product i have bought is subject to a safety recall. I have concatenated the seller and they say that the item is not subject to a recall but will not provide me with any details that confirm this. If you follow the eBay contact process there is no way of getting hold of anyone or any information on how i can establish if the seller is correct. As the item is electrical i need to find out an answer. Any thoughts on what i can do next?

I doubt you'll get any more info from eBay. They're just passing on the message. Their deadline for claims remains at 30 days from date of delivery so if it's beyond that they wouldn't actually be any help in getting a refund. If it's less that 120 days you could try your payment provider.

Hi Thank you for this, i have managed to locate the recall and the solution is to destroy the product. The seller has advised "Thank you for reaching out. We are aware of reports regarding sockets from another seller. Please be assured that the socket you received from us is safe to use, has no issues, and is not subject to any recall."
I have asked for information from them to support their statement but they have not responded. I am trying to get in touch with eBay because one of the pieces of information is incorrect. Either the recall notice from eBay is not correct or the item is faulty and the seller is not telling the truth. If the seller is at fault then what recourse to i have with them. It would be helpful if eBay to clarify this.
