I have lost trust with the original buyer as they stalled on paying, I thought I had sent an email to ebay raising concern about this and requested copy but do not appear to have received this.
Item originally sold 20 April on 25th April I offered 2nd chance to another bidder. at 11.59pm on 25 April I received late payment from the original winning bidder. How could this happen?
If the buyer says they did not receive the item :-
- I am wonder if there is any seller protection using the ebay postage paid tracked label?
- If there would be better seller protection if used royal mail signed for instead ?
- Can I cancel the late payment ?
- Is there a way to block an individual buyer from bidding any item in the future ?
Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding seller protection with shipping your item with simple delivery and also about blocking unpaid buyers.
I am glad to inform you that If you use the Simple Delivery prepaid label and our recommended parcel size and anything goes wrong with the delivery:
For future reference you can also use the following buyer management tool to manage which users can or cannot bid on or buy your items.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/bmgt/buyerrequirements
You can select "Block buyers who caused 2 cancellations of unpaid purchases within 12 month(s)."
You can also Block buyer from the following link

Correction to the above.
Item originally sold 20 April on 24th April at 11.47 I offered 2nd chance to another bidder.
at 11.59pm on 25 April I received late payment from the original winning bidder. How could this happen?

Unless you actually cancel the sale, using the reason 'buyer did not pay', the option stays open for the buyer to pay.
You should not have sent an offer to another bidder until you had actually cancelled the first sale.

Simple, unless you cancel a sale for non payment, the buyer can still pay.
The reason to cancel after 4 days for no payment apart from giving non payer N unpaid strike, is that no feedback can be left.
Now unless you honour the sale to the original buyer, he can leave negative feedback.
You do not advise ebay of non payers by messages, you use the proper system provided, then block the buyer, and set your preferences to block any members with two or more unpaid strikes.

eBay Simple Delivery offers protection for loss or damage in transit up to £750 provided you send as per their T&C
There is no eBay seller protection if you use your own postage, any claims would be down to you to make from your carrier
