Do people understand about this simple delivery that is starting with private sellers on ebay? I always use royal mail as I do not trust Evri. I cannot for the life of me work out how I will have to post items I sell. It says on the info from ebay that you don't have to worry about measuring/weighing, just to confirm the package size and they do the rest. So how can you confirm the package size without measuring/weighing. Also how do you know what to charge for postage on the listing. I wish they would stop changing things. For someone like me who is not that 'savvy' with technology, it is just a big headache.
Would welcome some advice how others do this.

You must get the weight bracket correct during the listing process otherwise they get the postage wrong. eBay put the postage charge for you. And you can opt out of using Evri here:

You can choose to only post with Royal mail, just deselect Evri.
You'll automatically be opted in to use all carriers that are available in this programme. If you would prefer not to send your items with a particular carrier, you can exclude them in your settings. Here's how:
You do not set the postage rates. They will automatically appear on your listings.
You do have to say what size/weight the package is. If it is Large Letter size, put approx. dimesnsions for a C or D padded envelope and put the weight at 99g.
If it is a small parcel, again, put approx. dimensions and put the weight as 999g (for up to 1kg) or 1999g (for up to 2kg.)
Just adapt this for your items as you list them.
I used SD for the first time today. It was actually really simple. I printed the label, it was scanned at the Post Office and the item is on its way.
