Need advice on collection only payments

Hi

It's been a while since I've sold a collection only item and I seem to remember it had changed to where the buyer has to give the seller a code ... just looked it up on help but still a bit confused ... this is what it says ..

Open the eBay app, go to My eBay and find the item in your Purchases.
Tap Show collection code. You'll see a QR code and a 6-digit code.
Show the code to the seller.
The seller will scan the QR code or enter the 6-digit code.
Once confirmed, the order updates to Collected and the handover is complete.

I'm the seller, so if the buyer is happy after inspection I'm not going to look in 'My Purchases' am I?  Where do I put the code?  Will it be on the 'Orders' page and then on the drop down menu for that item sold?

Hi Brenata!

Personally I would look through the details for the Purchase and in the Order details in your Purchase History you will find where to scan or enter manually the 6 digit number.  Do Not release the item if you do not receive a working code which states on entering something like   ' item collected'.

I would also,  after the item is sold , send a polite message to the buyer to remind them to bring that code,  as you cannot release the item without it.

still not sure where to add this code - am on the page that shows all my sold items and it just shows 'confirm collection' but nowhere on the drop down menu does it say anything about a code ... ive taken a screenshot of what I'm looking at ... buyer on way so panicking a bit now ...

If you click on where it says Confirm Collection, what happens ?  You should be able to scan or manually add that code there.

Try using a laptop / PC as the app always suffers issues .

Hi, did it! Kept thinking I needed to see something about a code on the order page but only option was 'confirm collection' so clicked on that and only then did it ask for the code, the way it's worded on the help page makes it slightly more confusing when it's quite easy, thanks Tressygirl. xx
