Ive been asked for NI but sold 29 items only not 30 as the stated limit has this happened to anyone else?

Yes.

 

30 is the reporting limit to HMRC.

More likely because you are selling all new items.

Ebay/HMRC may consider you a business.

I have not seen anybody else reporting they have been asked for their NINO after 29 sales.

Have you got any other Ebay accounts that you have made a sale from this year?
