Lost or Late delivery item

Sold shoes on eBay and sent with Royal Mail Tracked 48 on the 25th. Tracking still hasn’t updated/delivered. Royal Mail said because the label was bought through eBay I need to go through eBay for compensation.

Buyer may open INR case soon. What’s the best thing to do here to avoid losing both the item and money?

If this was a Simple Delivery transaction, with a non delivery if the buyer opens a case for item not received,  eBay should step in and refund the buyer,  and you should get to keep the payout.
