Open a return via the dropdown menu for the item on your purchase list. Use the reason "item damaged in delivery" and escalate after 3 working days.

Open item damaged in transit case.
If private seller using simple delivery, ebay refund you.
If not, escalate case on day 4 if seller does not resolve.
Click "Ebay help" top right of page.

Justl to add to the advice aready given, it is never up to the buyer to "get compensation from carrier service".
If the seller is a private seller using eBay's simple delivery, eBay itself will refund you.
If the seller has arranged the postage themselves, it's their responsibility to refund the buyer for loss or damage in delivery. They can claim whatever compensation may be available from the delivery service used, but this is not the buyers concern.
In either case you need to start the prodedure by opening a case under ebay's money back guarantee, see: https://pages.ebay.co.uk/ebay-money-back-guarantee/
