Will ebay pay the return cost?

Also i sold an Air fryer a while ago which was new unused open box, The buyer claimed it was scratched which it wasn't, He sent a picture of the scratch to ebay and after contacting ebay myself was told that he would get to keep the item and get a full refund, how can that be fair?

The seller will have to provide a label so you can return the item.

When the return case was opened against you, you needed to provide a label, get the item back and issue a refund.

You are buying and selling on this site.  You need to read about the Ebay Money Back Guarantee and what the process is for buyers and sellers.

how can that be fair?

Because that's what you accepted in the user agreement and in Bay's money back guarantee policy.

If a buyer claims that an item is not as described, if the seller wants the item back eBay enables them to send the buyer a prepaid return label. If you didn't do this, eBay will have refunded them without having to return the item. As you gave them the power to do in accepting the user agreement.

To answer your question re. returning the digital piano, the seller will be responsible for the return cost - assumimg that you opened the case within the 30 day time limit, and provided you paid through eBay's checkout and it was either delivered or you collected it in person. If it was sold for collection but you used your own courier to collect it this would have invalidated the money back guarantee.

It's clear that you had not read the terms and conditions when you refunded for the air fryer, and still haven't read them now. They will answer all your questions, but if there's anything you don't understand feel free to ask here again.
