Item for sale not readily visible in searches

Hello, I have a couple of items for for sale on Ebay.  I have not had as many views as I expected. If I search for the items in the central search bar using specific words from the title of my listing, the items appear in the listing. If however I do a general search using the "Shop by category", (Top left), scroll down to the correct category the items are listed under, the items do not appear in the listing. It seems, potential buyers may thus miss the items, depending how they do a search. A friend had exactly the same problem, the items could only be found by doing a specific search. This problem did not happen about a year ago when I last sold something. Are we dong something wrong, or is this a bug? Thankyou

I can see 2 items listed, have you listed more? 

If they are not showing it can take up to 48 hours to appear in all searches, as long as it's in active listing all is good, and don't revise them as this sends them to the back of the queue again to be indexed and listed.

Thanks for the quick response. No, there are just 2 items and they have
been listed for more than 48 hours. Can you see them if you go in via "Shop
by category", Electronics/Mobile phones and communications/Radio
communication equipment/Ham/Amateur radio,then select "Auction", which
lists about 458 items. Sort by "Ending soonest". If I scroll down there to
the time left, they do not appear?
