Item I won that needed collecting

Can anyone help eBay has released funds without my knowledge of an item i won last year I was to ill to collect now the seller no longer has my item but eBay released the funds with out a security code and now have closed the case eBay need to refund me my money back it was there error and the money shouldn’t of been released

Not knowing the full facts here,  but if this item was purchased last year, then you are far too late to claim anything under eBay's 30 day MBG Money Back Guarantee policy,  if you are over 120 days from purchase date,  you'll be too late also,  to claim from your payment provider.

Was there a lot of money involved here,  you may need to take legal advice,  as to how to proceed now.

It wasn't an ebay error, funds are usually released after about 14 days even without a collection code.

I am afraid after this length of time,  if the seller won't cooperate with a refund outside of ebay, there is nothing you can do through ebay or your funding source. 

Depending on the value you might want to ask citizens advice for help.

Once over 90 days a refund cannot be made through ebay and would have to be by Paypal or bank transfer.

Possibly seller is not aware of this as it can be difficult to exchange the information needed to do this.

Quite often, buyers turn up to collect items without the security code and sellers trust them and let them take the item away.

This is probably why, as @papso22 has stated, after a certain time, funds are released without the code.

The seller has your money - you should be asking them to refund you.
