I have a buyer who wishes to return a rubber stamp due to it not matching the listing image. 99.9999% of sellers of rubber stamps use the original rendering of the stamp image in the description. My buyer states not as described. I have explained that it not possible due to factors beyond our control. i.e what paper, card or other product the stamp is used on. The same amount of pressure each time it is used etc.
The image can be read from the photos they have provided but you can see different amounts of pressure used. The customer states item not fit for purpose but it can be read. I do not accept returns however to help I said I would but they want me to provide a postage label. They have not opened a return request via eBay. I have said send it back and I will refund all costs. What else can I do or am I obliged to provide a shipping label? Thankd

Buyer opens item not as described case, you issue returns label & refund in full on return.
If you refuse or ignore case, ebay force refund & buyer keeps item.

To add to the advice given, buyers have a legal right, as described in the Consumer Rights Act 2015, to return an item for any reason when they purchase from a business seller.
Even though you are trading using a private account, the buyer has made the (correct) assumption that they have bought from a business seller and expect you to accept the return.
Your current 'no returns' policy is illegal.

Your buyer isn't being unreasonable at all. They obviously assume that you're a business seller and will respect their right to return any item for any reason.
Looking at the range of new items you're selling it's hard to see how you didn't realise that you're not a "private" seller on eBay, as private sellers are limited to selling their own, unwanted possessions.
My advice would be to refund your buyer quickly before they complain to trading standards. Both eBay and HMRC are now tightening up on business sellers who are still presenting themselves as private sellers. It's easy to upgrade your account, which it's very important to do.
