I want to sell an item for £130 but the maximum compensation offered by any postal service is £75. So if it gets lost etc I will be losing £55? Any ideas or is it not worth sending anything over the value of £75?

If you use Ebay Simple Delivery, items are covered for up to £750 for loss or damage in transit.

Thank you for that information but sadly my item cannot be sent by simple
delivery. Ebay will not allow that option.

If you are free to choose your own postage service, then you can use RM Special Delivery.

I understand you cannot choose your own delivery. The highest compensation
is for just £75

If you can't use Simple Delivery then the only other option is to choose your own delivery, which can be Special Delivery if that's what you want.  You can buy direct from  the courier's website.

I don't know what you mean.

Neither of those statements are true,

You can choose your own courier.

Most couriers will offer additional compensation if you pay extra.

Thousands of sellers sell and post items valued at more than £75 every day,
