Import tax

I have returned and been refunded an item I purchased from abroad, but have now received an invoice from the shipping company for import tax

Import tax

Is it FedEx or DHL?

If so, you need to pay the fee and then reclaim it from HMRC (you won't be able to claim the admin fee back though).

Is the shipping company' invoice you have received for payment of import tax related to the item you have returned & been refunded?

I ask this as Couriers of imported items usually do not delivery to an address in the UK until the import duty has been paid.

I've had a couple of FedEx invoices arrive a week or two after they've delivered my item.
