I sent a partial refund in error, how do I cancel this.

Hi, I've recently recieved my first "cancellation request" from a buyer, which I rejected. After a plethora of messages from the buyer, I decided to cancel the purchase. Since I already rejected the cancellation request I could not figure out how to officially cancel this and with my phone going crazy whilst at work, I missed a refund.

Now I have an item as "Sold and awaiting postage" status and a refund pending to the buyer who has yet paid. Is there any way I can cancel the refund and the sale?

Thanks in advance

It's not possible to cancel a sale if you declined it, but you mention that there's 'a refund pending to the buyer who has yet paid.'

Has the buyer paid? If so, are you sure that you haven't clicked on a refund button anywhere?

Hi Vyolla,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

As a timeline:

>buyer purchased my item

>buyer submitted a cancellation request

>I (seller) rejected cancellation request

>after messages, I decided to agree to the cancellation

>I (seller) could not cancel the sale, so I refunded the amount back to the seller

Item is now stuck in my tasks as "Buyer paid, Send now" and "funds pending - Awaiting delivery" as there is pennies still awaiting payment.

I've just got off the phone with Ebay and they have advised the refund will balance out the payment and the sale will become inactive (i'm guessing if i refund the remaining value on the order). However I don't want this to negatively impact my account nor the refund being removed directly from my bank account and for me to be out of pocket for this (unsure if this is what happens with a "refund".

If you have not paid for postage, and cancel, buyer gets a full so you are not out of pocket as the refund is exactly what you received. Ebay refunds the buyer protection paid by buyer.

Money will be taken from your ebay account, but if there is insufficient or it is still held will come from bank account.
