I can't purchase a store subscription!

Hiya,

I'm an experienced eBay seller, helping a family member set up their eBay store on this new account.
When I go to "Subscriptions" to attempt to purchase a store subscription, it's all greyed out and says:

"You do not have a valid stored payment method. Please add a valid payment method before choosing your subscription."

However, I've already added a valid payment method - a bank card. I even added another one, and waited an hour to see if it took time to kick in - but I'm still un-able to purchase a store subscription! I tried getting in touch with someone on live chat but the bot just won't put me through to someone.

Any help would be amazing, I feel like I'm at the end of my rope!

You need to link a bank account to this Ebay account - the name must exactly match the name on your Ebay account - get the account verified, usually by Ebay depositing tiny amounts and taking them back, and set up a direct debit.

All the details are here - have a read.

Re: I can't purchase a store subscription!

Hiya,

Thanks so much for the link! I had a read, but sadly it hasn't helped me.

The "add a payment method" page that the Store Subscription page links me to just asks me to add a card. There's no other option for adding or linking an actual bank account or doing anything else that the article said about.

Also account has been verified~

Goto this link:

Cards and accounts can be dealt with here, ensure buying and selling filled in. The issue by the sounds of it is related to the bank account, as if funds aren't available in account they will take from your bank account, not your card, this done on direct debit, so something here isn't quite right I would imagine.

Have you linked a bank account?  That's part of setting up for selling.  Shops come next.

Re: I can't purchase a store subscription!

You say you are an experienced seller, but helping set up an account for someone else may cause problems.

The new account may somehow be linking to your own ebay account or even bank account, confusing the robots, if you are using same address, telephone number or even email address.
